A thousand apologies for the late updates... my excuse is that Dave took off with his laptop (and all of our uploaded pics) for a conference in New Orleans and so my blogging was delayed... So sorry!
Our Molly is becoming a little fish! This winter, Molly started her
first Tiny Tots I class at a local Chicago Park District pool. We've had
a great time learning to kick and use our "spoons" (hands) to scoop
through the water. Molly's been (reluctantly) jumping in from the side
and she's getting to be a pro at climbing out on her own. Her favorite
part of the lesson is, of course, free time, when she gets a noodle tied
around her tummy and she can paddle around the pool on her own. There's
a platform for little bodies to stand on in the shallow end and a box
full of decade old happy meal toys to entice the little fish. I have
liked getting my swim on too. Molly and I make a good duet when we sing
"wheels on the bus" and "ring around the rosy" with the other moms and
tots in the end. In fact, Molly likes singing a bit too much... while
the swim coach sings "this is the way we blow our bubbles", Molly sings
along and refuses to actually blow any bubbles in the water. Oh well...
something to work on!
The last couple of weeks, Molly's
coach said she should try moving up to the Tiny Tots 2 class... this is
a big step as parents are no longer in the water! The kids are bigger,
but otherwise, most of the activities are about the same. So far, Molly
has cried through a good chunk of the Tiny Tots 2 classes, but they say
that's normal, and so Molly's big mean mommy will keep on making her go!
The funny thing about Molly is that even though she cries and has to be
thrown into the water when she refuses to jump off the platform or
pried from slide when she refuses to slide down, she comes home and
talks about what a great time she had. So keep up the good work, little
fish! We're proud of you!

| Even the toys couldn't keep her smiling the whole time. Hang in there Molly! |

| A special lunch out at Top Notch! Dave was on spring break during Molly's first Tiny Tot 2 class, so he could come and watch the show. |
