Birthday! Birthday! Birthday!

Our sweet baby Molly is 3 (or almost... the big day is tomorrow)!!! We celebrated with lots of family, lots of sugar, lots of presents, and lots of fun! Grammy & Bompy and Nana & Papi made the trek over for church and we met up with Emily, Beth, Kevin and Logan back at home for some pulled pork lunch and birthday cake. This year we went for a zoo theme. Molly is still going strong with tigers as her favorite animals, so we included some of her striped friends along with other zoo animals in cupcake form.

It's hard to believe that Molly is already 3. This year has been like a step out of babyhood and into the world of big kids. With potty training figured out, a big bed to sleep in, and an independent attitude, our little baby sure is growing up. We couldn't be prouder of the kind, loving, creative, smart girl that she is right now and it's sweet to start to get a peak at the gifts that God has given her. Right now the teacher in me sees a mini educator in the making... she is curious about the world around her and she loves to share those new ideas and explanations. Molly says she's planning on being a knight with daddy and an astronaut too... maybe she'll take us to Mars one day. Happy Birthday, Molly! We love you  more than ever!

This week we started Pullman in the Park again- our church's summer park playtime. We kicked off the year with a trip to Lincoln Park Zoo... here are my two girlies with the meerkats!

The whole Pullman kiddie group stopping for lunch.

Fun times with the lion sculpture. Molly's getting to be one of the big kids now!

Molly surprised me with these cool shades from the dressup bin!

Happy Anniversary from Dave! I got this sweet birdhouse... a nest like the nest we're building together!

My big project this week... Cubs cookies for a friend's surprise party!

Cupcake baking time... I even let her have just a little batter just this once!
Frosting with LOTS of candy! One for the cake, two for our tummies.

Birthday time! While we waited for some guests, we played some pin the tail on the tiger!

A zoo buffet, complete with a giraffe salad, shark watermelon and pulled pork! :)

Molly received lots of spectacular gifts. I commented on the large number from her grandparents... Nana told me that "it's just such a fun age to buy gifts for!" What do you think... is there ever an age that isn't fun for grandparents? Thank you to everyone for the wonderful new books and toys!

Molly enjoyed 4 new singing cards! The "lollipop" baby card that goes into turbo mode was a favorite!

Sandbox time in the 90 degree heat!

A wild birthday cake!

Three candles take 3 people to help blow them out. Great job!

Everyone got into the action on the Busytown Eye Spy game!
