“And this mess is so big
And so deep and so tall,
We cannot pick it up.
There is no way at all!”
And so deep and so tall,
We cannot pick it up.
There is no way at all!”
- Dr. Seuss, The Cat in the Hat
We are a mess! Our house is mess, our car is a mess, and more often than not, our daughter is a mess! The good news is that I think our official Boven household philosophy is that the messier we are, the happier we are. When our house is mess, it usually means we've been running around having so much fun that we didn't have time to get it all cleaned up. When our car is mess, it usually means we've been driving off to some adventure. And when Molly is a mess, she's created some incredible work of art, built a stellar sandcastle, or enjoyed some delicious delicacy. All of these were true this week... we got out and enjoyed some sand, painted some pictures, and had lots of great eats. So, while I do enjoy a vacuumed and dusted house, a car that doesn't smell like a combination of honey nut cheerios and half-eaten bananas, and a pretty girl in her Sunday best, I think I enjoy the mess even more.
Garbage day! Molly waits vigilantly for the truck to drive by.
A new game- bowling for Little People!
We had LOTS of rain this week.... perfect for puddle jumping!
Uh Oh Spaghetti-Os!
As if the Spaghetti-Os weren't messy enough... dessert was a jelly filled doughnut!
Sunday afternoon we had lunch with the Dykstra family. Molly, Phoebe and Esther got their ice cream cones on the front porch. Molly had fun being with the big girls!
