Boos and Brrrrrs!

We've been excited about Halloween all week... reading some good Halloween library books, making a couple of crafts. Molly can now spell and read "BOO"- one of her first words, after she recently figured out "ZOO". When trick or treat night finally came, it was one of the coldest that Chicago has seen in 20 years or so. We had snow, sleet, hail and wind on our walk around the block. The words "Worst Halloween Ever" came out of our little princess... but she soon recovered when she got home, warmed up and started to enjoy her haul. While we didn't fill the old pumpkin bucket through our half dozen house visits, we also didn't have many visitors to our place, so we've got plenty of treats to last us til Christmas! Greta was along for the ride for her first Halloween. She looked a little confused about what was happening, but she hung in there like a trooper. Happy Halloween!

It's a bird... it's a plane... it's super pumpkin! and his super sidekick.

super carvers!

Halloween pancakes! (currently, one of Greta's favorite foods)

Crafty girls!

I heard a "swish, swish, swish" from across the room... how long was I looking away!?!? Greta and Vi are expert tissue pullers.

Rice krispie pumpkies!

Our beautiful princess and her knight in shining armor.

Earlier in the week, Molly and I fashioned our noble steed. It sort of looks like twin horses joined at the nose, but you get the idea at a least.

Our finished Jack O' Lanterns in action

Neither Snow, Nor Rain... will keep us from the candy! Notice the hail piled up on my sleeves and the black parts of the stroller.

"Ultra-Violet" stopped by for some trick or treating.

Princess, Knight turned ninja, and a dashing "Neo" from The Matrix ready to party. (Dave got to hit up a friend's Halloween Bash).

Molly's favorite favorite thing to play right now is "Paw Patrol". For those of you who don't get to watch Nick Jr. at your grandparents' houses, Paw Patrol is a hot new show for the preschool set. This is our bootleg version... for those of you Paw Patrol fans wondering who is who, from left we have Ryder (actually Cubby from "Jake"), Marshall, Sky, Chase, Zooma/Rocky, and Rubble. The brown dog has to play the part of two of the pups from the show. Sometimes Molly calls him "Slash Zooma Rocky"... love it!
The real Paw Patrol. Our's is better!

We received a couple new matchbox cars from trick or treating. Molly and the Paw Patrol set up some incredible ramps that made for a fun Saturday afternoon.

Greta's favorite thing to play is still "act like a maniac on the rocking chair".
